Baseball Hall Of Famers
Major League Baseball elected 3 new Hall of Fame players yesterday: Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and Frank Thomas. With those 3 and the managers already elected by the Veteran's Committee, Cooperstown is going to be bustling in July (which is a good thing, considering how last year was such a dud). Of course, yesterday's voting didn't come without some controversy. Some people didn't vote for certain players, causing them to fall short of election or fall off the ballot entirely. I understand why there's such uproar in the baseball community, especially being a fan of baseball and many of the the players on the ballot, but all of baseball's problems regarding the Hall of Fame can't be solved in one day, so let's not argue about things we can't change. Let's celebrate the work of three great baseball players. "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas is one of the greatest 1st baseman and right handed hitters of all time, while Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine's resume's speak for themselves. I'm just one person, but I want to say Congratulations!

One Day
With K-Pop on my mind, as well as lots of other things, here's a song by 2AM and 2PM, called "One Day". They're both from the same company, JYP Entertainment, so when they collaborate together, they're called The One Day, and their fan base is combined together to say IAM HOTTEST, which is pretty cool. I've looked up the lyrics for "One Day" before, but to me personally, I think the song speaks of togetherness, and doing things in life on your own. It's a wonderful song, and memorable to me because it has all the guys I love, so I hope you all enjoy it too.

For The Person Who Has Everything
I'm currently facing in a dilemma right now in my life (although it's hardly something most would consider a problem). The past few years, I've been spending lots of money on Amazon, buying all sorts of things from trading cards to films. And for the most part, I was happy since I was buying things that were solely mine, and having fun enjoying them my way. At the beginning, I bought things solely because I liked them, but after awhile, I started buying things based off of collecting or reputation. The problem was that after awhile, I had everything I wanted since I bought everything. And everything I did want either cost too much, or was something I decided I didn't need. With that in mind, I wonder what I should do now? I don't have everything in life (because who does), but now that nothing interests me enough to buy/want it, what do you get for the person who has everything they could ever want currently (not counting things that aren't material goods like happiness and love)? And does it have anything to do with disillusionment of life, or is it simply finding something new to like? I'm curious to see what you all think.

Gloves
After spending the whole day yesterday going back and forth out of the house to shovel snow, I'm not looking forward to going back outside, but what's done must be done. When it comes to winter storms like we're prone to having in New England, I often contemplate which is worst, the snow or the temperature? Most people would say snow without hesitation since when it falls, it piles up and makes life difficult for everyone. But to me, the temperature is the worst since it makes everything colder, and makes the snow harder and heavier. It didn't happen as much yesterday since that was only the beginning of the storm, but with more snow last night, I'm sure shoveling will be tougher today.
One thing I noticed while I was shoveling snow though, was how terrible gloves are. They offer protection, but don't seem to offer enough of it (if that makes sense). For example, my gloves are made out of some really warm fibers and have have straps, but that doesn't do any good since my fingers still get really cold. It could have to do with my fingers, but everyone knows that they get cold fastest besides your toes, so gloves should be better made for everyone. I'm sure there are ones out there that cost more, but companies shouldn't charge more for something like that. It just isn't right.
My gloves may suck, but I have snow to shovel. For those of you doing the same, be careful. It's cold out there.

Comments
Being a independent blogger, I'm grateful for any support my blog gets, whether it's views or comments. I get more views than comments, which some perceive as a negative thing, but I don't think that's the case. Views are just as important as comments to me, especially when you consider how little time people have nowadays. Comments though, are not as great as they seem. It's great to interact with fans/viewers whenever it comes to something you mutually like, or your own work, but there's a time when comments are too much, such as when they're blindly positive or too negative. Take for example, what I see on YouTube daily. It has a comment section that is open to anybody, but people misuse it all the time. They'll say something is really awesome, but won't change their minds even when someone has facts that prove they're wrong. Another example is when people's comments get out of hand, and they're too negative about a subject, starting a long argument. I find the latter worse than the first, but just the fact that comments affect people this way makes me question what's the point for them. Yes, we have freedom of speech, but even that has a limit. And with no one to actively supervise what's online, are people responsible enough with their opinions?
I think they can be, but it's clear not everyone is that way...

New Year's Resolutions
With New Year's day now over, I'm doing what many people are doing/have done, and thinking of resolutions I want to accomplish. Some people are picking "getting a girlfriend", or "winning the lottery" as resolutions, but I don't think that works since it has to be something that you alone can accomplish. Although, if those did count as resolutions, I'd want those same things. Since they don't though, here are some things I want to accomplish this calender year.
In no particular order...
In no particular order...
- Graduate from college: It's my 5th year at school, so hopefully this is the year.
- Stay in contact with one friend from college: This sounds easy, but if you live off campus and are introverted like myself, it's difficult meeting any people.
- Get a job: This needs no explanation.
- Learn to drive: Not something I really want to do, but this would be a major achievement for me and maybe make my life easier.
- Lose 5-10 pounds: For my health and self-esteem.
