Buying Yu-Gi-Oh Cards Again...

Recently, one of the longest streaks came to an end.  No, it wasn't Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak, it was my streak of not ordering Yu-Gi-Oh cards online, which lasted a surprising 2 months.  I had been doing such a good job of not ordering cards, but once my friends started buying them again, I couldn't resist.  It's cost a few dollars, but I think it's well been worth it, especially since this time around, I'm wiser with my money, only buying a few cards at a time, and not going over my budget, which has helped a lot.  Since I'm into fusion cards, or any cards that can help my deck, the list of cards I've bought so far has been...
  • Gaia The Dragon Champion
  • Gatling Dragon
  • Barrel Dragon
  • Blowback Dragon
  • 2 Future Fusions
  • Paladin of White Dragon
  • White Dragon Ritual

I don't know what cards I'll buy next, or when I'll order again, but all I can say is that I'm excited about dueling again, which is good since I lost some interest in it a few months back.  Till then, all I can do is wait for the mail with excitement in my heart.

What Should I Do?: Yu-Gi-Oh Style

For the past few days, I've been looking at and re-buying Yu-Gi-Oh cards to build a good dueling deck.  I've tried remaking my old deck from my youth (which was Spellcaster/Fiend), but it's been difficult with the way new cards are now, and how much older cards cost.  I could buy some of the newer ones, but I'm still drawn into the nostalgia of old ones like Gate Guardian, Dark Magician, and banned cards, which have made my deck suck.  As I've started dueling again, I've rediscovered how fun it is, and how it really does require strategy, which is something I didn't conceive as a child.  I haven't won yet, but I've had fun, making me think maybe I'm more cut out to be a collector since I only buy rare cards, and love the shininess of them.  If those options don't work, then I'll have to be a rare hunter or part of Team Rocket.

In all seriousness though, despite buying so many cards, I'm clueless on building a proper deck.  So does anyone have any suggestions for someone like me, who wants to make a Spellcaster/Dragon deck?  I honestly don't know what to do.

Yu-Gi-Oh Cards

Recently, I wrote a blog post about the Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon a few weeks ago, talking about how I was getting back into it, but not in the way I was as a teenager.  Well now, I'm here to say that's changed because recently, I've been playing the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game and video game, which has reignited my interest in the game itself.  I don't plan on ever playing in tournaments or dueling full time, but I love collecting things, so it's cool to collect something from my childhood I loved.  Most of the cards I've bought are older ones from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series and booster packs like Legend Of Blue Eyes or Pharoah's Servant.  The cards may be worst compared to the the cards now, but that's only because the new ones are so cheap with their synchro-summon, etc.  For my money, I'll take the original cards any day, and I am, as I try rebuilding my old deck with bunches of new cards.  I still have a long way to go, but it's time to RE-DUEL!  Now all I need is a duel disk.

Yu-Gi-Oh

I've been on break from blogging the past few days because of school and other engagements, but now cause it's Saturday, I'm back, and ready to talk about what I love talking about most on this day, cartoons.

The cartoon on my mind today is Yu-Gi-Oh, which I think needs no introduction to viewers of the show and to duelists.  It's on my mind today because lately, I've been getting back into the card game and re-watching the show.  It doesn't have have the same grip on me it did when I was a child, obviously, but looking back, it was great!  The bad-ass cards, the over-seriousness, the long duels, what wasn't to love?  Back then, I'd watch and record Yu-Gi-Oh on Saturdays, then go to school and talk about it with my friends.  If I was really lucky, I'd even have money from allowance or something, and buy booster packs from the local store.  Such a long time ago, but simpler times.

I'm not saying Yu-Gi-Oh was the greatest show on Saturdays, because I don't think it was (especially with others shows I love like Digimon, Recess, Weekenders), but but it was a show that had everything I was looking for at the time, which is something that isn't possible with new cartoons anymore.  Old Saturdays are gone, but we'll always have the memories and cards in this case.
